More About How I Work

Studies have revealed that core to positive counselling outcomes is the strength of the relationship between client and counsellor. This is what helps enable your sense of agency and belief in your own capabilities.

Central to my work is the creation of a trusting, secure relationship in a safe therapeutic space.

My training and experience covers a wide range of psycho-therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Transactional Analysis,
  • Clinical Hypnosis,
  • Trauma Therapy,
  • Art Therapy,
  • Emotion Focussed Therapy,
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy,
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

During the counselling sessions, I can suggest to you the modalities or tools that will be best suited to your personal context.

Sometimes all you need is someone to listen deeply and validate you.

You can learn how to change well worn neural pathways by developing flexibility around how you think and how you manage your feelings.

Realising you have the ability to change how you respond to life’s circumstances, once you have the resources and skills, is what can help you feel in control of your life.

Sometimes things are beyond your control and you need to find new ways to best manage the difficult feelings and circumstances. I’m often in awe at the unique ways clients find to do this.
